Spanish courses in Chile
Activities & Climate (free time)
Studying a language abroad means more than attaining fluency. We also want to ensure that your time in Latin America will be the experience of a lifetime. To help you gain new Latin perspectives and to best understand the local culture, we take on the responsibility to coordinate optional social events. Santiago de Chile is a historically rich and modern city with plenty of things to explore. A typical student week involves activities such as salsa lessons and shows, rafting and trekking tours, city and vineyard tours, happy hours and local festivals. Overnight weekend excursions include mountain trips, visits to surrounding villages such as the resort community of Vina del Mar or the port town Valparaiso, as well as outdoor adventures.

Combination Buenos Aires - Santiago
The most popular option is to combine your course with our schools in Bariloche and Santiago, Chile. The schools all have the same curriculum so that you can continue your course at another school without any problems. It is the best opportunity to enjoy several cities, to learn about different cultures and accents and all with the same program!
The airfare and the transfer between the different schools are included in the price of the program and you can start in the city you would like to.
COMBINATION Bariloche
ECELA offers you not only the opportunity to explore the Argentinean and Chilean capital but also invite you to explore the tourist capital of Patagonia, Bariloche.
The city offers you a calm ambiance and beautiful landscapes. The rivers and the mountains are the ideal environment to combine your Spanish course with fantastic trips and a rich regional culture.
There are direct flights from Buenos Aires and Santiago to Bariloche, so that you can combine your Spanish course in a big city with a stopover in Bariloche. You can also divide your Spanish program to three schools, for having a maximum experience of culture!
The airfare and the transfer between the different schools are included in the price of the program and you can start in the city you would like to.
HOUSING
During your stay you have several housing options. You can either have us arrange you a room in a student apartment or organize a home stay with an Chilean upper-middle class family. Of course, it is also possible to arrange a room yourself.
Shared Apartment: Our most popular housing option is the shared apartment, where you will live with other students. No meal plan is available with the shared apartments, however you have kitchen access to prepare your own meals. Furthermore, cooperation with other students is necessary as the common areas are maintained only once per week. The student apartment is the best option for everyone who wants to combine the Spanish experience with meeting new friends. All apartments are fully furnished and equipped.
You may have a private or shared room, with a same-sex roommate selected by our staff.
Family Stay: To make your immersion program complete, you may have us arrange a home stay with a local family. We strongly recommend this option as it allows you to practice and to improve your Spanish in a natural environment while also exposing you to the local culture. All families are carefully selected and provide the student with a private room, kitchen access, and comfortable surroundings. You may have a private or shared room, with a same-sex roommate selected by our staff.
